Transferring your domain away from Hostmonster.com is pretty easy. We’re happy to help you navigate or even do it for you. But ultimately, you you will have to be the one to click the link to “ok” the transfer that hostmonster.com sends to the registrant’s email address in order for Hostmonster.com to allow the transfer.

The next few steps are what we need you to do in order to get your domain name ready to transfer away from hostmonster.com and generate the correct auth or “EPP” code that we use to initiate the transfer to our account at eNom.

Verify The Domain is Ready to Be Transferred

First, log into your account at http://hostmonster.com. You will see a screen sort of like this depending on what deal they’re selling. And always remember, you don’t get what you don’t pay for!

1. Log in using your username (your domain) and your password. If you’ve forgotten your password use the recover my password link to have it emailed to the hostmonster.com account holder’s email address that you set up when you created your hostmonster.com account.

2. Click the “Domain Manager tab, check the box next to your domain, and click the “Contacts” sub tab on the lower right to double check that you email address is correct.



3. Click the “Lock” sub tab and make sure your it says your domain is “unlocked”
4. Click over to the “Transfer EPP” tab. Give the “EPP Code” to your analyst or web designer or add it to your ticket. Once you verify that your email is correct and the domain is unlocked and ready, we will initiate the transfer.

Email with Link Will Come to Verify You Want to Transfer

Once the transfer has been initiated you will receive an email communication from hostmonster.com asking you to verify that you wish to transfer your domain. You must click the link to indicate your desire to authorize hostmonster.com to release the domain name to eNom.com.
