Philip Johnson Salon/Spa Referral Letter

June 12, 2009

Dear Sir/Madam:

I highly recommend you take advantage of the technology and creative marketing services iDotMind can offer you to grow your business or organization. The Philip Johnson Salon and Spa retained iDotmind just over a year ago to revamp our website because our previous site was outdated and did little to boost our bottom line. It was a good decision. iDotMind has surpassed our expectations.

We asked our customers to fill out an information form including how they heard about us. Before we made the investment in online marketing we relied on referrals, foot traffic in the Central West End, and on expensive printed ads. Now, a year later we have reduced those ineffective ads because our web traffic continues to grow. Over 50 visitors a day come to our site now and simple google searches like, “salon st.louis”, “haircut central west end”, and “salon bear slu”, puts our link on the first page of returns. More importantly, approximately 50% of our newest customers say they found us on the internet which is a 99% increase from a year ago.

This is not all iDotMind has done for us. They have been angels in a crisis by fixing business halting network problems. They’ve salvaged a crashed hard drive with our customer database of over 6000 records, years of accounting, etc…, and set up a private network link between our main location and our salon inside BJC Hospital– a feat that not even the in-house BJC tech support people or the Geek Squad could do. AND, they negotiated on our behalf with BJC’s tech support to waive the $1300.00 Internet port installation fee at our new location. They are really good at talking geek to geek and smoothing things over for regular business owners. The guys at iDotMind are good friends to have!

I want to keep this letter short so I’ll stop now. But really I cannot say enough praise about how iDotMind has helped build our business , and communicate with our customers in ways I never would have dream (Facebook, MySpace and text messaging). I used to think the Internet was just for kids and my customers would be all word of mouth or walk-ins, or maybe come from a few ads in St.Louis Magazine but I was wrong. The Internet is a fantastic place to conduct business!

Furthermore, iDotMind’s service is excellent even with how busy they are. While you might not be able to get them immediately on the phone all the time, they have an easy to use help desk ticket system, and in my experience they respond to requests usually within the same day. Their professional fees are fair and competitive given their experience, education and expertise– I think they are worth every penny since they make it easy to see the return on my online advertising investments.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me or stop by the Salon.

Your’s Truly,
Phil Shipman

Dear Nestor:

Thank you for your kind donation in the amount of $216.00 for 12-17′ Monitors to be used for a display at the Central West End Art Fair.

I am sorry that I was unable to see your display, but I understand you did take pictures. I hope to be able to see those pictures some day.

I am also sorry to hear that you have resigned from the BWORKS Board of Directors. I was so hoping we could get our public relations off the ground and get the word out about BWORKS. I hope you will find a non-profit organization that will be more receptive to your ideas.

Thanks again for this and your past donations. I wish you well.

Very truly yours,
Maggie Kuehn

Limesurvey 1.85+ not skipping over question group

I found a solution to this problem, after some geeking around with the survey question conditions.

What was the problem:
question_c is part of a group of questions that pertain only to males and that is supposed to be skipped over completely because question_a equals female. But since were only disqualifing question_c by an answer from question_b, question_c does not know whether it will be shown or not shown. So Limesurvey shows a title to the male question group, but no questions.

To fix this I copied the conditions for the screener question_a that are already on question_b to question_c , and it no longer goes to a group with no questions (only a title), it jumps to the appropriate question group that is next.

Disqualify question_c by the condition for question_a also, and it will skip the question group.

Here is how the current logic works:

show question_b if question_a equals “M”
show question_c if question_b equal “Y”

The fix:

show question_b if question_a equals “M”

show question_c if question_b equal “Y”
AND
show question_c if question_a equals “M”

A possible logical solution:

if(question_a == ‘M’){
    question_b = no_show
    if(question_b == no_show && question c == same_group){
        question_c = no_show
    }
}
